SUMMARY:All Public Events Cancelled Until Further Notice
DESCRIPTION:Ann Arbor KTC has cancelled all public events at the center until further notice to help avoid spreading COVID-19. In this unprecedented situation\, our first priority is for the safety of all of our members and visitors. \nRecovery Dharma and The Ann Arbor Center for Mindfulness\, local groups that rent our space\, have also elected to cancel their meetings for the immediate future. \nWe all continue to pray for those directly affected by this outbreak. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we encourage you to continue your meditation practice at home. If you would like to receive meditation instructions via Skype\, or have any other questions about your Dharma practice\, please email Lama Nancy (lamanancy@annarborktc.org). \nMeanwhile there are online teachings available from our parent monastery\, Karma Triyana Dharmachakra and other KTC centers. \nWe have also been posting on our facebook page. \nCheck back to this page for updates as more information becomes available.

SUMMARY:Sunday Service: Foundations of Buddhism 11:15 am
DESCRIPTION:Starting March 15\, 2020 and continuing throughout the Year of the Rat\, the Ann Arbor KTC will host a Foundational Buddhism course. This series of talks\, one each third Sunday of the month (as part of our regular Sunday Service)\, will progressively introduce the foundations of Buddhism as presented in the traditional Sutras. \n\nConcepts from both the Theravada and Mahayana schools will be introduced in ways that encourage us to develop a compassionate and mindful way of living. Whether you are new to Buddhism and curious about its teachings\, or an advanced student seeking to strengthen your grounding in the fundamentals\, this course will have something for you. \nFoundations of Buddhism is offered free by the Ann Arbor KTC and no formal registration needed. While later talks build upon ideas introduced earlier\, you are welcome to drop in on whatever dates you are able. Talks begin at 11:15 am and include time for meditation.
