SUMMARY:EVENT POSTPONED Khenpo Ugyen Tenzin Visit
DESCRIPTION:  \nWe are sorry to announce that Khenpo Ugyen Tenzin will be postponing his visit to the Ann Arbor KTC. \nWe will update the calendar when we have a new date. \nA native of Bhutan\, Khenpo Ugyen was born in 1955 and became a monk at the age of 19. He received the Acharya (Master’s) degree in Buddhist Studies in Rumtek\, Sikkim\, at the age of 25\, and soon after was appointed a khenpo (professor). He then taught Buddhist philosophy at monasteries in Bhutan and India\, and at Dharma centers throughout Asia. \nIn 2005\, His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa sent Khenpo Ugyen to the United States to teach at KTD Monastery and its subsidiary KTC centers. Khenpo Ugyen has also done intensive meditation retreats both in Bhutan and the U.S. In addition to his formidable scholarship\, he is known for his kind and gentle manner–and his love of deathly hot food! SUMMARY:All Public Events Cancelled Until Further Notice
DESCRIPTION:Ann Arbor KTC has cancelled all public events at the center until further notice to help avoid spreading COVID-19. In this unprecedented situation\, our first priority is for the safety of all of our members and visitors. \nRecovery Dharma and The Ann Arbor Center for Mindfulness\, local groups that rent our space\, have also elected to cancel their meetings for the immediate future. \nWe all continue to pray for those directly affected by this outbreak. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we encourage you to continue your meditation practice at home. If you would like to receive meditation instructions via Skype\, or have any other questions about your Dharma practice\, please email Lama Nancy (lamanancy@annarborktc.org). \nMeanwhile there are online teachings available from our parent monastery\, Karma Triyana Dharmachakra and other KTC centers. \nWe have also been posting on our facebook page. \nCheck back to this page for updates as more information becomes available.
